I’m a Costume Designer and Supervisor with a passion for bringing stories to life through inventive, meticulously crafted design. My journey into costume design began later in life; after spending ten years in hospitality, I decided to pursue my creative passions more fully and retrained at 34. I received a full scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Theatre Costume with Distinction. This experience not only developed my technical skills in costume construction, from pattern cutting to fabric manipulation, but also gave me a strong foundation in collaborative and detailed design work.
Creativity has always been a core part of who I am. From a young age, I designed and hand-stitched my own clothing and sketched characters from the plays I loved. That early passion and self-driven work have evolved into a distinctive, expressive design style that I now bring to professional productions in both theatre and television. My work has been recognized with multiple Costume Design Recognition Award nominations from the Black British Theatre Awards in 2020 and 2022, which has only deepened my commitment to creating costumes that resonate with audiences and honor the characters they represent.
Since graduating, I’ve worked on an array of exciting productions, including Richard III at Rose Theatre Kingston, A Raisin in the Sun with Headlong and Leeds Playhouse, and The Wiz at Hope Mill Theatre. I’ve also had the opportunity to work on the acclaimed television series The Great (Seasons 2 and 3), where I learned to navigate the fast-paced and high-stakes world of costume design for screen.
